You work hard to make sure everyone around you is taken care of.
You have set aside your own goals, hopes, and dreams and prioritized others. At this point, you may not know what you want and need anymore. You may even feel resentful toward people you’re caring for because you have no time or energy left for you. You may feel taken for granted and frustrated that no one can see that you have needs and wants too. You may feel guilty for feeling this way and you worry others will judge you. You know you are suffering yet you do not know how to do things any other way. You feel stuck and hopeless as you are not sure if you will be able to find a way out.
If you are in a romantic relationship, you may feel disconnected from your partner. You ask yourself, “Do I matter anymore? What happened to the closeness and spark that we used to have?” You may feel lonely in your relationship even though you wake up next to this person every day. You may not feel like your needs and wants are getting met by your partner. You have noticed that you are drifting apart but you don’t want to give up on this relationship.
I can be a guide to your self-discovery, a builder of relationships, and a champion for true intimacy.
As an individual and couples therapist, I have supported many people through this journey of rediscovering joy and meaning in their lives and relationships.
As a white, heterosexual, cisgender female, I am constantly working to be aware and vigilant of the privileges and power I hold in my identities. I am continuously learning about the ways in which the power I hold impacts others. As an ally, I am affirming of diverse and intersecting identities and I listen to and center marginalized voices. I use a Health at Every Size lens when working with body image and disordered eating concerns.
I can help you better understand your past, overcome the obstacles that are in your way, and provide you with the tools and guidance that you will need to bridge the gap between wanting change and actually making changes. I can help identify what you want and need, set healthy boundaries, and advocate assertively for yourself. I will challenge you to take risks, tolerate discomfort, and become who you truly are.
